We are looking for an Onboarding Assistant to join our Compliance Team.
In this role you will work closely with colleagues across the firm, supporting client onboarding by gathering ID documents, carrying out checks, opening new matters, and assisting with risk assessments. You will also be involved in wider AML work, including screening and due diligence, helping to keep everything compliant and running efficiently.

About the role
This role will involve working within a small team of Onboarding Assistants to undertake the initial onboarding process for all clients.
General responsibilities for the role will include, but are not limited to:
- Liaising with clients and internal teams to collect required ID and onboarding information.
- Carrying out electronic ID verification using Smartsearch, conflict checks, and initial due diligence
- Supporting risk assessments and identify any issues requiring further checks or escalation
- Using onboarding systems (Autologyx) to open matters, upload documents, and prepare engagement letters
- Acting as a central contact for new clients, ensuring clear and consistent communication
- Maintaining accurate records and track client onboarding progress to meet compliance requirements
- Working closely with compliance on AML matters (e.g. sanctions, source of funds)
- Managing workload independently, prioritising tasks and meeting deadlines
- Building strong relationships across teams, including fee earners and business support functions
- Identifying opportunities to improve processes and enhance the client experience
Essential Skills and Experience
Previous experience of onboarding processes is advantageous.
