Description

We are recruiting for an experienced Legal Cashier to join our Accounts team based in Leeds. In this role, you will provide support on a broad range of legal cashiering duties and work closely with colleagues across the firm including partners, fee earners, and secretaries to maintain smooth financial operations.

About the role

The successful candidate will have the ability to work with limited supervision and have a proactive approach in supporting the team.  

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Bank reconciliations for office and client accounts
  • Ensuring compliance with Solicitors Accounts Rules
  • Processing client billing, invoices, credit notes, and disbursements
  • Managing electronic payments (BACS & CHAPS), cheques, and receipts
  • Handling petty cash, expenses, and financial transfers
  • Supporting matter closures, interest calculations, and ledger updates
  • Liaising with fee earners and partners on client-related queries

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in legal cashiering
  • Strong Excel skills (intermediate level)
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to work confidentially and professionally
  • Accountable and proactive approach to work
  • Experience with Aderant would be beneficial (although training for this can be provided if needed)
